Overview: This is a thoughtful renovation and extension of an existing mid-century holiday home, reimagined as a permanent residence for a retired couple. The design embraces a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired barn style while preserving the home’s original mid-century character. Our team is enhancing the home’s sustainability and comfort through improved insulation, passive cooling, and a reconfiguration of the downstairs level to function as a self-contained residence. The layout allows the upper level to remain flexible for future holiday accommodation, while the lower level offers a calm, functional space designed for everyday living. Designed to a strict and modest build budget, we’re delivering a carefully considered solution that balances aesthetics, practicality, and long-term liveability. Our involvement spans concept development, drafting of plans, approvals through the local authority, interior design, and full build and project management—ensuring a seamless, end-to-end experience for our clients.
